Spot Color Printing and Contour Cutting
To specify a spot color to use to output a design element or to specify a contour cut:
- From the Edit menu, select Colors:
- Click New:
- Enter a Name that matches an entry in the Appendix - Spot Color List. The name needs to be an exact match in order to work. For a contour cut path, use the name CutContour.
- Select a color mode, and set the color values for the screen representation of the spot color.
- Check Spot Color.
- Click OK.
- Repeat for any additional colors.
- Click Save.
- To assign spot colors to an object:
- From the Style menu, select Color then select the color from the color list.
- To assign a tint percentage:
- From the Style menu, select Shade then select the tint percentage preferred. Use 100% to print the spot color with full coverage.
- To prevent the spot color from being converted into process, save the design as an EPS file and add it manually:
- From the File menu, select Save page as EPS:
- Set Format to Color.
- Set Data to Binary.
- Enter a file name in the Save page as field.
- Click Save.
If you do not see a Save button, put the cursor in the Save Page As field.
- Copy the EPS file to the server and manually add it to the desired output device setup.
